Stroke Rebel

shows how Linda, an entrepreneur and former model, is fighting her way back to living life successfully after a massive stroke at a young age. Linda’s story serves as a blueprint and source of realistic hope for stroke survivors.

About the Author: Linda was the epitome of success in virtually all facets of her life before tragedy struck. She was a wife, mother of three, former model, entrepreneur, and spoke five different languages. However, in April 2016, she suffered a massive stroke at the age of 43, which turned her life upside down. The stroke left her completely paralyzed on her left side and unable to speak. The doctors could not provide any answers about whether or not she would regain use of her left arm and leg, or talk again.

Linda’s road to recovery looked bleak. The process was long, stressful, painful, and filled with setbacks. She had to deal with neuropathic pain so severe that she contemplated giving up on life. In a recent interview, she shared, “That was absolute rock bottom. At that point, I made a decision—to fight and become ‘a warrior and a rebel’ in my own life, and find ways to help other stroke survivors.”

Stroke Rebel 2

After her stroke Linda had a choice: accept what people told her, or find out what was actually possible.

She chose the second one.

In Stroke Rebel 2, Linda walks you through the modern research on neuroplasticity, the stuff neuroscientists have figured out in the last decade about how brains actually learn and reorganize. She didn't just read it. She lived it. She built her own training methods around it, with Arjan's neuroscientific guidance supporting every step.

Here's the core idea:
Your brain doesn't stop learning. Ever.

You can learn a new language at 75. Maybe not as fast as a 2-year-old, but you can. Your brain is still plastic. Still forming connections. Still capable.

During her rehab, Linda kept hearing: "This is the best you'll do." But that's not what the research says. That's what people assumed.

This book is what happens when you don't accept the assumption. It's Linda's map and Arjan's science, showing you how to keep improving long after everyone said you should stop.
